Tuition, hostel, exam fees, and books covered through needs-based scholarships verified by headteachers in Dhading.
Of the students we support, 95% remain enrolled the following year. Headteachers confirm enrollment status each term.
Nepali volunteers check in weekly by phone to help students with studies, attendance, and planning for what comes after school.
Laptops and tablets delivered to partner schools with setup and maintenance support so students can access lessons.
How we measure
Each term, headteachers report which scholars are still enrolled and share exam pass rates. Mentors log weekly check-ins. We use this data to decide where to add support and where to adjust.
We do not yet have graduation or employment data — our oldest cohort is still in school. We will publish those numbers as they become available.
Where we work
We focus our resources in Dhading district, where our founder grew up and where we have strong relationships with schools, headteachers, and ward committees. By proving what works in one community, we're designing a model that can expand to similar rural districts across Nepal.
Student voices
Students from each program explain what changed.
Scholarships
"The stipend arrived the week my father was laid off. It kept me in my hostel and I graduated on time."
— Kabita, Bagmati scholar
Mentorship
"My mentor's weekly calls in Nepali kept me motivated when I wanted to drop out. Now I'm preparing for exams."
— Prakash, Dhading scholar
Devices
"Having a shared laptop in class means we can actually do our assignments instead of just reading about them."
— Rina, Dhading student
When Sita's family couldn't afford hostel fees mid-term, a scholarship kept her enrolled. Weekly mentor calls helped her stay focused through exams.
“When my hostel fee was covered, I could focus on finals instead of finding work. My mentor's weekly calls kept me on track.”
Dhading · Mentorship
Bikash was close to dropping out when a volunteer mentor began weekly check-ins. Career sessions helped him see a path forward in technology.
“I didn't know anyone who worked in tech. My mentor showed me it was possible for someone from my village.”
Dhading · Device Support
Manju's rural school had no computers until Aashirbad placed laptops with on-site setup. Students now share devices during study periods and weekend labs.
“We used to only read about computers in textbooks. Now we can actually use them.”
After partnering with Aashirbad, Principal Rai's school saw fewer students dropping out mid-year. Scholarships and devices gave families a reason to keep children enrolled.
“Parents used to pull children out for farm work. Now they see the laptops and the mentors, and they want their children to stay.”
